Ritter Implants Advisory Board Member Alvaro Ordonez DDS
 

Alvaro Ordonez first received his dental degree from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota (Colombia) and served as a dental resident before his graduation at San Antonio de Padua Hospital in Boyacá (Colombia); then, he worked as a general practice resident in Cartagena (Colombia) at Blas de Lezo Hospital.

Dr. Ordonez made his studies at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston where he completed a fellowship in Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMD), Dental Occlusion and Facial Pain; he was trained by Dr. Noshir Mehta, Albert Forgione and Harold Gelb in different techniques of conservative TMJ treatment. Dr. Ordonez served as a clinical instructor at Tufts University in the Restorative Dentistry Department. He is a expert consultant in the area of facial pain, and TMJ disorder at the V.A. Hospital in Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital, a former consultant and guest speaker at Miami Childrens Hospital, Lindsey Hopkins Research Clinic in the area of TMJ.

Dr. Ordonez is also involved in academics with different universities in South America. He is a recognized national and international speaker in the area of TMD, Facial Pain and Implant Dentistry. He is Co-Chair of the ICOI for Latin America and is a member of the editorial Board of Implant Dentistry, the Journal of Osteology and Biomaterials, and the Vice Chair of Clinical Innovations Committee of the American Academy of Osseointegration. Dr. Ordonez is also very proud of his affiliation as a full time faculty of the Pikos Institute in Tampa.

He has been involved in the development of multiple clinical techniques and instruments available in the market.
